Summary/Objective

As an Enrolled Agent, you will be responsible for establishing contact with tax agencies and updating case files on behalf of our clients. You will interact with Federal and State tax agencies to negotiate the best resolution for clients, such as releasing wage/bank levies and securing holds to meet deadlines. Moreover, you will prepare and review financial documents to determine the best resolution options like Offer in Compromise, Installment Agreements, Currently Non-Collectible, and Penalty Abatement for IRS and State tax agencies. Success in this role requires staying knowledgeable about the latest legislation and regulations, possessing a strong attention to detail, being comfortable with analyzing tax data, auditing tax forms for completeness and accuracy, and upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the IRS and state tax agencies to determine the status of client’s tax debt and secure collections holds.
• Release wage garnishments and bank levies to provide immediate relief to clients.
• Advise clients on correcting under withholding issues and/or making estimated tax payments for future compliance.
• Prepare detailed financial statements outlining the client’s current financial position.
• Review financial statements to determine the best methods for managing past tax obligations, including preparation of Offers in Compromise, Installment Agreements, Currently Not Collectible status, Penalty Abatements, and Audit Representation.
• Oversee the preparation of appropriate IRS/state Powers of Attorney and other forms, ensuring they are properly completed and filed with the corresponding agencies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Enrolled Agent.
• Licensed Enrolled Agent in good standing with the IRS.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable with phone and written correspondence.
• Ability to work independently on case management and also contribute to departmental team goals.
• Exceptional client service and the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
• Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach.
