Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager/Director who will fill a key leadership role in the audit department, with a path to principal. The firm would also consider experienced principal candidates for the position. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial reporting within the governmental reporting framework, a deep understanding of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards, and Uniform Guidance audits. Experience with Texas Community Health Centers and Federally Qualified Health Centers is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the audit department, acting as signer on all engagements for governmental entities, not-for-profits, and community health centers.
- Ensure compliance with GASB standards and other relevant regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional service and support.
- Work with audit managers and staff by mentoring and fostering a collaborative and high-performance professional work environment.
- Ensure audit plans are designed to be efficient, effective, and responsive to identified risks.
- Review and approve audit workpapers, reports, and findings.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in governmental auditing.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and presentations.
- Represent the firm at industry events.
- Lead the audit department and the firm’s strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.
- 10 - 15 years of experience in auditing, with a focus on governmental audits and community health centers.
- In-depth knowledge of GASB standards and governmental accounting principles.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in audit software and the ability to learn and be innovative.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Texas Community Health Centers.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations affecting community health centers.
